Regras do Passado nos Verbos Regulares (-d, -ed, -ied)
Simple Past & Past Participle1. Regra Geral (+ed)
A maioria dos verbos em inglês no passado simples e particípio apenas recebe a terminação -ed ao verbo no infinitivo.
2. Terminação em "E" (+d)
Se o verbo já termina com a letra -e, você adiciona apenas a letra -d no final.
3. Consoante + Y (-ied)
Se o verbo termina em consoante + Y, troca-se o -y por -ied. *(Se for vogal + Y, como play, aplica-se a regra geral +ed).*
Em verbos de 1 sílaba (ou com última tônica) terminados em CVC, dobra-se a última consoante antes de adicionar -ed.
• Stop → Stopped (dobrou o 'p')
• Plan → Planned (dobrou o 'n')
• Prefer → Preferred (dobrou o 'r')
A terminação -ed NÃO tem som de "é-dê". Tem 3 sons possíveis:
1. Som de /id/ (somente se terminar em som de T ou D): Wanted, Needed.
2. Som de /t/ (após sons desvozeados P, K, F, S, SH, CH): Worked, Stopped.
3. Som de /d/ (todas as outras terminações): Lived, Played, Loved.
